  • Nomination of a Pass Holder is done by filling in the traveller details before accepting the Offer. The traveller details consist of the natural person’s title, first and last name, date of birth and country of residence.
  • You are responsible for providing us with the correct traveller details. The traveller details cannot be changed after conclusion of the Agreement except as otherwise permitted by these Plus Pass Purchase Conditions.

9.2. Pass Holder acceptance of conditions

9.2.1. When nominating another natural person as a Pass Holder, you declare that that person has reviewed and agrees to be bound by these Plus Pass Purchase Conditions and, in particular, the Pass Conditions of Use unamended.

  • For Eurail Passes, the country of residence may be changed at any time.
  • In all cases, the country of residence cannot be changed from one country to another where such a change would require the Pass Holder to use a Eurail Pass instead of an Interrail Pass or an Interrail Pass instead of a Eurail Pass.
  • For additional details concerning the country of residence requirement, please see the Pass Conditions of Use.

9.6. Evidence in support of a correction

9.6.1. If you request a correction or change under clauses 9.4. or 9.5., we may require you to provide evidence in support for the purposes of verifying that the correction or change does not result in the Pass being transferred from one Pass Holder to another natural person.

10. USE OF A PASS

10.1. Eligibility

10.1.1. You expressly acknowledge that there are additional eligibility requirements and restrictions to using a Pass, including, but not limited to, requirements and restrictions based on age and country of residence. These additional eligibility requirements and restrictions are set out in the Pass Conditions of Use.

10.2. Compliance with the Pass Conditions of Use

10.2.1. All Plus Pass Holders must use their Pass in strict compliance with the Pass Conditions of Use.

10.2.2. You and all Plus Pass Holders nominated by you (including Pass Holders of a complimentary travel companion Pass) expressly acknowledge the following:

  • The possession of a Pass alone does not constitute a Contract of Carriage.
  • Without a Contract of Carriage being in place, the Pass Holder does not have a valid ticket to board a service covered by the Pass.
  • To ensure that a Contract of Carriage is in place, the Pass Holder must take the additional steps set out in the Pass Conditions of Use.

10.3. Travel documentation

10.3.1. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary travel documentation and visas that allow you to travel within the Pass network. Each nominated Pass Holder has this same responsibility.

10.3.2. If you do not obtain the necessary travel documentation and visas, you may request a refund or exchange under the conditions set out in the Refund and Exchange Policy.

10.4. Last possible activation date

10.4.1. You must activate and commence using your Plus Pass within three (3) months after the Agreement is concluded.

10.4.2. For instructions on activating your Plus Pass, please see your order confirmation email.

11. CHILD PASSES

11.1. Child Passes (for children aged 0 to 11, inclusive)

11.1.1. A Child Pass is designed for children aged from 4 to 11 years of age, inclusive. If your child is younger than the age of 4 and you would like your child to travel in their own seat, they must travel with their own Child Pass. In those cases, your child is eligible to travel using a Child Pass.

11.1.2. You may order up to two (2) Child Plus Passes per Adult Plus Pass (for natural persons aged 28 to 59, inclusive), on the following conditions:

  • The price of the Credits package must be paid for each Child Plus Pass.
  • You must order the Child Plus Pass(es) at the same time and in combination with the purchase of an Adult Plus Pass only. A Child Plus Pass cannot be added once the Agreement is concluded.
  • If you are eligible to use a Youth or Senior Pass, you may purchase an Adult Plus Pass. We can then issue a Child Plus Pass in relation to that Adult Plus Pass. If that Adult Plus Pass is refunded, the Child Plus Pass may not be used.
  • The Child Plus Pass(es) will be issued as the same type of Plus Pass as the corresponding Adult Plus Pass based on the class of travel and validity (i.e., number of travel days, period of validity and geographical validity).

11.1.3. For more information on whether a Child Pass is needed, please see the Pass Conditions of Use.

12. CREDITS

12.1. The Credits package

12.1.1. The Credits package consists of the following:

  • Twenty-one (21) Type A Credits which can be used to book Type A Seat Reservations via our Website. If you hold a One Country Pass, you may also use your Type A Credits to book the Type A Benefit specified as a part of the Offer. You may only redeem the benefit by contacting our Customer Service team prior to booking the benefit. Please contact our Customer Service team to see how many Type A Credits you have remaining.
  • Three (3) Type B Credits which can be used to book a Type B Seat Reservation via our Website. The total number of Credits required to book a Type B Seat Reservation varies and depends on the service concerned and will be presented to you before finalising your booking. You can see how many Type B Credits you have left when logged in to your Account.

12.1.2. The value of a Type A Seat Reservation is fixed at one-third of the Credits package, divided by the maximum number of Type A Seat Reservations/Benefits that you may book. The value of a single Credit, which can be used for Type B Seat Reservation is fixed at two-thirds of the Credits package, divided by the maximum number of Type B Seat Reservations that you may book.

12.1.3. The Seat Reservation purchase prices shown on our Website are set by the Participating Companies and/or ticket distributors. The prices are static, except for Eurostar, OBB Nightjet and SNCF TGV inOui which are subject to dynamic pricing based on supply and demand. As a result, the number of Credits needed to book some Seat Reservations of Eurostar, OBB Nightjet and SNCF TGV inOui may vary due to underlying price fluctuations based on supply and demand factors. For Seat Reservations based on static prices, we reserve the right to change the number of Credits needed to book those Seat Reservations, if any, based on changes to the underlying price. If the change is unacceptable, reach out to our Customer Service team for a refund on the unused portion of your Plus Pass. Already booked Seat Reservations are not affected.

12.2. Limitations on using your Credits

12.2.1. Use of your Credits is limited by the following:

  • Our Fair Use Policy set out in clause 12.3 below.
  • For Seat Reservations, Credits can only be used to book E-Ticket Seat Reservations via our Website, excluding sleeper accommodation on night trains and bus and ferry services. Paper Seat Reservation Tickets cannot be booked using your Credits.
  • For Benefits, Credits can only be used to book a Type A Benefit via our Customer Service team before booking.
  • Credits are not redeemable via third parties or third-party channels.
  • Credits will not be refunded for Seat Reservations and Benefits booked via third parties or third-party channels nor will the costs of those Seat Reservations and Benefits be reimbursed by us. This applies in all cases, including when our booking systems experience technical issues that make booking not possible via our Website.
  • All Seat Reservations and the Benefit are subject to availability.
  • To book Seat Reservations using your Credits, your Pass must be activated.
  • You may only book Seat Reservations for services that will operate during your selected Validity Period.
  • Credits may not be used as part-payment of Seat Reservations or the Benefit.
  • Your Credits are personal and cannot be transferred to another Pass.
  • Your Credits will expire and cannot be used or redeemed after the last Travel Day of your Pass or after your Pass has expired, whichever is earlier.

12.3. Fair Use Policy

12.3.1. When making use of your Credits, it is essential that you do not do so in a way that inconveniences or unreasonably interferes with other persons who may wish to make use of the services operated by the Participating Companies. For that reason, you must not use your Credits in an unacceptable way. If you use your Credits in an unacceptable way, we may take the enforcement action referred to in clause 16.

12.3.2. When using your Credits, you will do so in an unacceptable way if you do any of the following:

  • You book multiple Seat Reservations for the same person, for the same journey and on the same calendar day with different departure times.
  • You book multiple Seat Reservations with the same departure time or where the journeys of the booked Seat Reservations overlap.
  • You book multiple Seat Reservations for services operating in different countries where you cannot reasonably take both services.
  • You book multiple Seat Reservations on more calendar days than your Pass has Travel Days.
  • You book more Seat Reservations on one Travel Day than can reasonably be used, or you book overlapping Seat Reservations.
  • You book a Seat Reservation without first activating a Travel Day, or after using all of your Travel Days.
  • You book a Seat Reservation for another person using your Credits.
  • You use your Seat Reservations for commuting purposes.

12.3.3. The first two dot points of 12.3.2. do not apply to situations where you have booked Seat Reservations as a result of a delay, missed connection due to earlier delays or cancellation of a service within the Pass Network.

13. REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

13.1. Refund and exchange policy of the Plus Pass

13.1.1. The refund or exchange of any Plus Pass and used Credits are governed by our Refund and Exchange Policy.

15.2. Consequences of termination

15.2.1. If we elect to terminate the Agreement under clause 15.1., we will refund the full amount paid under the Agreement back to you using the same method used to make payment. We then invite you to purchase a Pass again.

16. SUSPENSION, TERMINATION AND BLOCKING A PASS

16.1. Our reservation of rights

16.1.1. We reserve the right to suspend and/or terminate the Agreement, block your Pass and/or use of your Credits (or the Pass of any Pass Holder you nominate) and/or block you from purchasing a Pass or a Plus Pass in the future if you or any Pass Holder:
